Porcelain Veneers

Salinas, Santa Cruz and Monterey, California

Have you ever wondered if there was an easy way to make your smile look fantastic without having to endure the embarrassment of wearing braces? The answer can be the placement of porcelain veneers at Advanced Smile Designs in Aptos, California.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are an excellent way to fix stained, chipped, or crooked teeth. Thin, ceramic shells are bonded to the front and sides of your teeth to provide you with brighter and straighter teeth that will help you achieve the beautiful smile you've always wanted.

The porcelain material that gets bonded to your teeth is very durable and can withstand the intense pressure created by your jaw during biting. The porcelain used on your veneers also very closely mimics the translucency of natural tooth enamel. As a result, your porcelain veneers will closely match the appearance of surrounding teeth, providing you with a natural, healthy looking smile.

Placing Porcelain Veneers

Proper placement of porcelain veneers cannot be performed by a general dentist. It requires the skill, artistry, and precision of a highly trained cosmetic dentist.

Your porcelain veneers can be completed within three visits to Dr. Forsberg's office. On your first visit, you will discuss your desired goals with Dr. Forsberg. He will then evaluate your smile to determine the ideal size, shape, and type of porcelain veneers to use with your smile makeover.

On your second visit, Dr. Forsberg will remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth in preparation for the placement of your veneers. A mold will be created of your teeth in order to ensure that your porcelain veneers will have the precise dimensions necessary to achieve your desired aesthetic results. You will then receive temporary veneers while our lab technicians create your permanent veneers in their dental laboratory.

On your third and final visit, Dr. Forsberg will install your permanent veneers. You will now have a radiant new smile to show off to friends and family.

What are Porcelain Veneers Used to Fix?

Dr. Forsberg can treat the following dental issues with porcelain veneers:

  • Stained or discolored teeth
  • Wear and tear on teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Uneven or misshapen teeth

Porcelain veneers offer you an excellent alternative to other restorative techniques such as dental crowns and dental bonding. Unlike these other options, porcelain veneers have the advantage of being able to correct multiple teeth at a time.

Empress Veneers

We will choose the type of porcelain veneers that will most effectively address all of your cosmetic goals. However, for the majority of our patients, we use Empress Veneers.

Empress Veneers are created using pressed ceramic materials which are leucite-reinforced. This material provides increased durability compared to other types of porcelain veneers. The translucency of Empress Veneers ensures that your new smile will appear natural and radiant.
